Product description: Fauna Flora is a digestion-enhancing blend of enzymes designed to promote food breakdown, and nutrient absorption whilst acting as a probiotic.
Based on an organic Saccharomyces yeast, Fauna Flora is great for use in birds where improved digestion is required. It is activated by coming in contact with water in the digestive system or when mixed with wet food, which triggers the yeast into action. This active yeast then breaks down complex nutrient molecules into simpler more digestible and absorbable forms.
Fauna Flora may be beneficial for:
- Sluggish digestion
- Intestinal bacterial and yeast overgrowth
- Avian Diabetes
- Sour Crop
- Improper nutrition
- Geriatric animals
- Adjunct to post-operative/convalescent digestion
- Improving digestive flora balance during and after antibiotics
Directions: Add a pinch (1/16th tsp) per meal and mix in well. It can also be used in conjunction with Harrison’s Recovery Complex to enhance nutrient absorption.
Storage: **After the sachet is opened, Fauna Flora should be kept dry and stored in the freezer**
Clare’s comment: My birds will happily eat this straight from my hand, but I tend to add some either to a pot of Gastric Grit, or a wet mash made from pellets and water once a week to enhance digestive health. Note that any uneaten wet mash should be taken up after an hour.
If I have a sick or convalescing bird which isn’t eating, then I mix this with Harrison’s Recovery Complex and syringe feed if necessary.
Ingredients: Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast and the media on which it was grown, consisting of organic hominy, organic corn, organic wheat and organic sugarcane molasses. No GMOs.
